Monument to the medical doctor Hilaris Feigus

The monument is dedicated to the doctor Hilaris Feigus (1888-1944). A special Soviet commission managed to identify his body in 1944. The inscription on the monument reads ‘Here rests the doctor Hilaris Feigus (1888-1944), the only one of the 100,000 victims of Paneriai to have his own grave’. In 2000, the monument was erected on the initiative of Rachilė Margolis (1921-2015), a former prisoner of the Vilnius Ghetto and a member of the ghetto’s underground resistance organisation, as well as a long-term employee of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History.
